    Teaching Assistant and Tutors are academic student employees, who are primarily graduate students. There is a small population of Teaching Assistant and Tutors appointed at UCSF. The following instructions have been created to assist HR Generalists in processing their appointments, renewals, and separations.

  • HHMI Overview

    Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) is a UCSF-affiliated organization, and some individuals from HHMI will be appointed to UCSF faculty appointments as well. When this occurs, there is an established process and guidelines for processing these appointments with UCSF. The HHMI faculty will require offer letters from both HHMI and UCSF, and multiple appointments will need to be processed in UCPath. HHMI faculty do not receive pay from UCSF, and are considered on leave without pay from their UCSF position during this appointment period.
