Important: Review your premium rates for 2026.
Many employees enrolled in the Kaiser HMO will pay higher premiums. Many employees enrolled in UC Care or moving from UC HSP to Health Savings+ will pay lower premiums
Remember to consider all of your out-of-pocket costs, including cost for medical care, when comparing plans.
• New health plan for 2026: Health Savings + (replacing CORE & Health Savings Plan)
• Current CORE and UC Health Savings Plan members can enroll in any of UC’s medical plans during Open Enrollment. If you don’t act, you’ll be automatically enrolled in HealthSavings+ if you’re eligible.
• Blue Shield is the new plan carrier for PPO plans (UC Care & Health Savings +)
• Coverage for both weight loss and fertility services is changing: Access to weight loss and appetite suppressant medications (for example, drugs known as GLP-1s) will be more limited across all plans; benefits for infertility services and prescriptions will be expanded and made more affordable for Kaiser HMO and UC Blue & Gold HMO members
UCSF Health prioritizes supporting employees, residents & fellows, post-docs and students in establishing care with a UCSF PCP.
In addition to hospitals and facilities in SF & Oakland, UCSF collaborates with affiliated hospitals and providers to offer convenient access to care close to home.
