Overview
OHS annual flu vaccinations for faculty, staff, students and volunteers. Protect yourself, your coworkers, family and community — get vaccinated this flu season.
For the current influenza season: You must document that you have either received your flu shot or submit a declination of your flu shot by November 1, 2025.
Getting your vaccination
You can receive a flu vaccination through the following resources:
- 2025-2026 Flu Outreach clinics at UCSF locations beginning Aug. 29
- Flu Ambassador in your department
- Occupational Health Services locations starting Oct. 1
- Your primary care provider.
- Local pharmacy covered by your primary care insurance (i.e. CVS, Costco, Safeway).
- UCSF Outpatient Pharmacies
- Walk-ins are available at any UCSF Outpatient Pharmacy; however, scheduling through UCSF MyChart is preferable. You can schedule an appointment at either the UCSF Pharmacy at Parnassus or Mission Bay by logging into MyChart.
- Additional options for UC Employees, Postdoctoral Scholars, and Trainees to obtain flu vaccines.
Submitting your vaccination record
*Please note that when you receive a flu vaccination from an outside provider (such as a local pharmacy or non-UCSF primary care provider), you will need to complete one of the following options to align with University of California policy:
- Starting Aug. 29 use the Digital Screener to attest that you received the current season flu vaccine, with an option to upload the documentation of vaccination to the OHS Portal (VPN MyAccess required from a UCSF computer)
- Upload the documentation of vaccination to the OHS Portal (VPN MyAccess required from a UCSF computer)
- Email the record to [email protected]
- Any UCSF employee who is also a patient at UCSF Health and gets a flu shot at UCSF Health primary care can consent to share their vaccination record with Occupational Health and no further action is needed by the employee. The record will take 3-4 days to route and upload to Occupational Health.
The flu record should include name and date of birth. If it only includes one identifier, write your UCSF Employee ID (EID) on the record.
Declining the flu vaccine
UCSF needs to have a declination record on file. More information will be provided soon on how to decline the vaccine.
Influenza policy information
Influenza is a serious respiratory disease; on average, 34,000 Americans die every year from influenza-related causes. UC policies and those from county health authorities require that those across UCSF and UCSF Health adhere to policies for vaccination and masking, especially in clinical settings.
