When this occurs, there is an established process and guidelines for processing these appointments with UCSF. The HHMI faculty will require offer letters from both HHMI and UCSF, and multiple appointments will need to be processed in UCPath. HHMI faculty do not receive pay from UCSF, and are considered on leave without pay from their UCSF position during this appointment period.
