UCSF Leave Administration Team Changes

UCSF Leave Administration Team Changes

Leave Administration consolidates into a single UCSF office.

Human Resources has been working to provide best-in-class leave management support for UCSF teammates. This involves improving our service delivery and enhancing our strategic support. To achieve this, we’re making changes to the Leave Administration team and Benefits team to better align our delivery of services with industry-proven models.

What’s changing?

Leave Administration will move into HR Shared Services, becoming part of the HR Operations team. The first phase of the transition is to consolidate the health and campus staff leave teams with Rachelle McCabe as the manager and Laura Padilla as the Director. This work is expected to be completed by Feb. 1, 2024. The transition plan for Academic Leaves is underway, and additional information will be shared as this phase of work progresses.

Effective Jan. 21, UCSF Campus & Health Benefits Offices will combine into one centralized UCSF Benefits Office. Read more details about these changes.

Why?

The Leave Administration consolidation allows us to begin working toward a single point of contact for leave administration questions and escalations and provide a more consistent leave process and customer experience. It also enables HR teammates within the Leave Administration team to strategically focus on:

  • Reduced absences.
  • Identification of at-risk departments.
  • Identifying systematic trends associated with leaves.

HR will share updates as this work progresses.  Questions? Please reach out to Rachelle Mccabe or Laura Padilla.
