UCSF Health Updated Badging and ID Card Process
Reminders and clarifications about the new UCSF ID badging process for UCSF Health employees
As communicated in July, the Badging/ID Card process for UCSF Health was combined under the WeID Office effective Aug. 1, 2024. The below information serves as a reminder of the new process and clarifies steps for an employee to obtain a replacement badge. Please note, paper badge forms are no longer accepted at WeID.
UCSF Health Badge Process
New Hire/Transfers
- Managers will be asked to provide the “badge type” on all new hire, rehire, and internal health (health to health) transfer management action cases.
- HR will update employees Working Title, Department Name, and the hire’s relevant credentials during the onboarding process into Bravura, which will be reflected in the WeID system.
- Employees can make an appointment to get a badge on or after their first day of employment.
NEW: Replacement Badges
- An Ask a Question/General Inquiry is required to be submitted by the requesting employee before attending a scheduled or drop-in appointment with WeID.
- When submitting the inquiry, the type will be listed as “Personal Information”, and the Subtype is “Badge Replacement/Change”.
- The employee should check their profile at the UCSF Directory external site for accuracy and completeness. If changes are needed, they should include these changes in the “Description” section of the inquiry.
- Please allow 5-7 business business days for the inquiry to be reviewed, validated, and entered into the Bravura system by the HR Team.
- Employees must bring their picture ID (e.g., license) with them to the appointment.
Employees can also visit the HR website for guidance on this process.
