New Badging/ID Card process for UCSF Health Employees

UCSF Campus already uses WeID for its badging process.

The Badging/ID Card process for UCSF Health will be combined under the WeID Office effective Aug. 1, 2024. During August, WeID will run in tandem with UCSF Health Security issuing new badges/IDs. After Aug. 31, all badges/ID cards for health employees will be issued by WeID. UCSF Campus already uses WeID for its badge/ID card process. 

Changes and Actions – New for UCSF Health Employees 

  • Management Action Forms: Managers will be asked to provide the “badge type” on all new hire, rehire, and internal health (health to health) transfer cases. 

  • The Badge Request Form will no longer be used for new hire and transfer cases. HR will update employees Working Title, Department Name, and the hire’s relevant credentials during the onboarding process into Bravura, which will be reflected in the WeID system. 

  • For existing UCSF Health employees who may need a replacement badge/ID, appointments are recommended. Your HR Representative may need to update the employee record in Bravura before your appointment date if the employee's information is not up to date.  

The employee should check their profile at the UCSF Directory for accuracy and completeness. Please submit a general inquiry via Peopleconnect 

  • When submitting a case, the type will be listed as “Personal Information”, and the Subtype is “Badge Replacement/Change”. 

  • The WeID process is paperless. Employees must bring their picture ID (e.g., license) with them to the appointment.

  • WeID operates from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday-Friday with a lunch break between 11 a.m. - noon.
