What’s New in Oracle HCM: Recruiting, Reporting and Core HR Improvements
The latest enhancements improve the candidate and offer experience, strengthen requisition data quality, and bring updates to reporting and core HR workflows.
UCSF continues to refine Oracle HCM with enhancements that make processes clearer, more consistent and easier to manage. This latest set of updates reflects ongoing feedback from across the organization and includes improvements for hiring managers, recruiting teams, HR teams and other Oracle HCM users.
Hiring Managers and Recruiting Teams
- Updated candidate decline reasons: Candidate decline reasons at the Offer stage have been updated to provide more accurate and actionable information about why candidates choose not to accept an offer. The updated reasons give recruiting teams better information when reviewing hiring activity and candidate outcomes.
- Clearer status language for declined candidates: Candidates who are declined during the hiring process will now see clearer, more appropriate status language. The update better aligns the status displayed to candidates with UCSF’s intended communication, creating a more consistent candidate experience.
- Additional bargaining units on offer letters: Two new bargaining units have been added to offer letters, helping ensure hiring managers and candidates see the correct bargaining unit information for employees represented by the newly added unions.
- Consistent status for withdrawn offers: The disposition status used when a candidate withdraws after receiving an offer has been standardized. This change keeps recruiting data consistent with historical records and makes it easier for recruiting staff to accurately review and report on candidate outcomes.
- More complete requisitions before approval: Requisition sections must now be completed before a requisition can move forward for approval. Requiring information upfront helps prevent incomplete requisitions from reaching approvers, reducing the need for follow-up and rework during the hiring process.
- Position-sourced fields are now locked: Requisition fields populated from an approved position record are now locked to prevent those details from being changed inadvertently. This helps preserve approved position information and reduces the potential for rework or delays later in the recruitment process.
- Improved classification for Student: Casual/Restricted positions: Requisitions for Student: Casual/Restricted positions will now default to the correct classification. The change eliminates an unnecessary error during requisition creation and simplifies the process for hiring managers creating these requisitions.
- Job Code and Job Title displayed on requisitions: Hiring managers and recruiters can now see the Job Code and Job Title directly on a requisition. Previously, users needed to cross-reference the position record to find this information. Displaying it directly on the requisition makes key position details easier to find during the hiring process.
- Correct approval routing for Contingent Worker reporting changes: Changes to a Contingent Worker’s “Reports To” information will now follow the appropriate approval process. Correcting the routing helps reduce the risk of transaction failures and creates a more reliable process when reporting relationships need to be updated.
Talent Acquisition Leaders
- New Talent Acquisition Sourcing Report: A new centralized report provides greater visibility into sourcing workloads across Talent Acquisition. The report helps leaders understand how assignments are distributed so they can better manage workloads and support timely hiring.
Help Desk Queue Owners
- Real-time updates on the Case Aging Report: The “Last Updated” date on the Case Aging Report now reflects activity in real time. This provides Help Desk Queue owners with a more accurate view of current activity when tracking tickets and monitoring resolution progress.
All Oracle HCM Users
- More recognizable Oracle Cloud workflow emails: Oracle Cloud workflow emails now use a UCSF display name for the sender, making system-generated messages easier to recognize. The change helps users more readily identify legitimate Oracle HCM communications and reduces the likelihood that messages will be mistaken for spam or an unfamiliar sender.
Continuous improvement shaped by UCSF feedback
These updates are part of UCSF’s ongoing effort to improve Oracle HCM based on feedback and opportunities identified since launch.
Thank you to everyone who continues to share feedback. These incremental enhancements help strengthen the reliability and usability of Oracle HCM for the teams who use it across UCSF.
