Open Enrollment Begins Oct. 29
2027 highlights, resources and information to help you make your benefit decisions
Open Enrollment is almost here and now is the time to take a fresh look at your benefits for 2027.
From Thursday, Oct. 29 at 8 a.m. through Friday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m., UCSF faculty and staff across Campus and Health can make changes to their health and welfare benefits for the coming year. Even if you plan to keep your current coverage, take a few minutes to compare your costs and options for 2027.
Changes made during Open Enrollment take effect Jan. 1, 2027.
What to know for 2027
Medical plan choices are not changing, but employee medical premium contributions will increase across plans. Some copays, out-of-pocket maximums, and other medical plan costs are also changing.
Review 2027 plan changes, premiums, and other details on the UCNet website.
Re-enrollment required for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
If you participate in a Health or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA), remember that you must re-enroll during Open Enrollment to continue participating in 2027. Current FSA elections do not automatically carry over to the new year.
Get help choosing your benefits
UCSF offers several ways to get support during Open Enrollment, whether you have a quick question or want help considering a medical plan change.
Resources include on-site and virtual help desks, individual medical plan consultations and inpatient hospital rounding. Interpreter services are available.
New this year, the UCSF Benefits team is also offering 30-minute Open Enrollment webinars. The sessions will explain how Open Enrollment works, what changes you can make and where to find additional support, with time for questions. Webinars will be offered Nov. 3, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16.
Visit the UCSF Open Enrollment website for schedules, webinar registration and other support resources.
Make your elections by Nov. 20
Once Open Enrollment begins, log in to UCPath and make your benefit elections. All changes must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
