Manager Actions: Preparing for the 2023 Staff Engagement Survey
Take these steps to prepare for the 2023 Gallup Staff Engagement Survey.
In preparation for the 2023 UCSF Staff Engagement Survey, which will open April 11-May 5, all Campus managers are asked to perform three actions:
- By Feb. 14 - Confirm your HR Umbrella Team Roster
This ensures your team is accurately captured for the survey. If your roster is correct, no action is needed. To update your roster, reference the Campus “Roster Quick Guides” available in the Roster section of HR Umbrella. Campus Managers can email HR Umbrella questions to [email protected]. - By Feb. 28 – Nominate an Engagement Ambassador
Engagement Ambassadors are a critical partner to managers and teams in driving survey participation and in keeping engagement alive throughout the year. We recommend at least one nomination per team of 40 staff members and per shift. The best candidates are non-supervisory, trusted by both managers and staff, and enthusiastic about inspiring others to participate in the engagement survey and action planning. We have streamlined the process this year so that all nominations can be submitted by any UCSF manager via one form, whereas in past this process was submitted via different Campus Control Points and Health forms. - By March 1 - Review Your Engagement Action Plans
- Remember to:
- Review goals of existing plans with your team.
- Assess and record progress.
- Maintain focus to keep making progress.
- Remember to:
FAS department managers are additionally asked to mark completed action items in HR Umbrella by March 1.
