Improvements to the Timely Processing of Separations and Final Pay

These changes will prevent processing delays and ensure final pay is on time

UCSF HR is improving the timely processing of separations and final pay.

Starting Nov. 3, UCSF will begin processing separation cases even if the final timecard is not yet approved. This will prevent processing delays and ensure compliance with final pay requirements.

This approach will allow UCPath processing to continue on schedule while departments complete any outstanding timecard approvals. Departments and managers will remain responsible for ensuring that final timecards are accurate, complete, and approved before final pay is processed.

As a reminder, departments and managers should:

  • Submit separation cases at least 10 business days before the employee’s last day.
  • Collaborate with their Shared Services and Academic Personnel teams to identify ways to improve submission timeliness.

The HR website as well as automated reminders to employees and leaders are updated with timelines and best practices.
