Overview
As we transition to more onsite work, take some time to familiarize yourself with our updated workspace and explore the nearby neighborhood. This is a brief overview of the amenities and features of our workspace at UCSF Emeryville.
Building entrance
Address: 6425 Christie Ave., Suite 130, Emeryville, CA 94608
The main entrance to the BCH Emeryville offices is located off Christie Avenue, between 64th Street and Christie Avenue. Enter through the glass double doors. HR is in suite 130 on the first floor to your left as you enter the glass door. Please ring the doorbell if you do not have your BCH badge yet. Your UCSF badge will not work in this location - see below for more details on how to get a BCH badge.
BCH Badge/ID card
Teammates working in the Emeryville office will need to obtain a BCH badge/ID on or before your first day. Your UCSF badge will not work in this location, so please be sure to work with your manager and follow the necessary steps to ensure you can access the building.
Most badges are set to work between the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you arrive outside of those hours, you may not be able to access the building.
Workstations
There are seven workstations available in the suite: C160, C161, C164, C165, C166, C168, and C169.
The open-plan model is an active space where we encourage meetings at the desk and casual conversations, while also being mindful of our neighbors. The expectation is that voices and speaking are normal, and people should plan to use noise-cancelling headsets. Individuals are expected to take their non-confidential Zoom meetings or phone calls at their desks. Please note that cell phone reception in the suite can be limited. We recommend using Cisco Jabber or Microsoft Teams for calls and communication.
Wipe down work surfaces before and after daily use. Empty recycling and trash bins before you depart for the day.
Conference rooms
There are two conference rooms available for use, conference rooms 121 and 136. Reservation is needed currently, so please send your request to [email protected].
Transportation and commuting
Parking
There are three convenient parking areas for free:
- The exterior surface parking lot behind the 6425, 6455 and 6475 Christie Ave buildings.
- The exterior surface parking stalls across the street at 6400 Christie Ave.
- The covered parking garage across the street at 6400 Christie Ave. (available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.). A "Kastle" building access card is required for gate access. Gate entrances/exits are on both the 64th St. and 65th St. sides. Please see Kendall for the key card.
EV charging stations
EV chargers are available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday for Bay Center tenants. To keep access fair, please only occupy these stalls while your vehicle is actively charging.
Security escort
Security escort services are available Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.-midnight. If you’d like an escort to or from your vehicle, please call (510) 417-6083 and the officer on duty will be happy to assist.
Shuttle
There is also a free Emery-Go-Round Public Shuttle that picks up at the MacArthur BART station.
Printing
We have two printers set up and ready to use. The black and white only printer is located next to the front door. The printer with colored option is located by WS station C167 and C169.
A BCH badge is required to access the printers. Please note that IT assistance is needed when adding a printer for the first time.
Breakrooms/kitchen
The first floor breakroom, shared with UCSF Finance, is ready for use. There is one full size refrigerator, microwave, water dispenser, tables and Keurig machine available. There is an additional area with coffee, water and a small fridge inside the HR suite near cube C160. Keurig pods are available but no other food or drink is provided by the department.
Facilities provide daily recycling, composting, and trash pickup in the breakrooms and common areas only. Always clean up after yourselves after each use.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located just right outside of the suite. Women’s are located on the right side and Men’s are located on the left side outside of the suite. All the restrooms are locked. Please visit Kendall Lappe for a key card if you don't see one in your cubicle.
Health and safety reminder
Do not come work if you are sick. Take the Digital Screener if you experience symptoms, including sore/scratchy throat, cough, congestion/runny nose, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, fever, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of taste/smell, eye redness/discharge, or any new symptom that cannot be explained by a pre-existing condition.
