Overview

As we return to increased onsite work in UCSF locations, we encourage you to explore the office space and get to know the surrounding neighborhood. This is a brief overview of the amenities and features of our HR workspace at 2001 The Embarcadero.

Building entrance

Main entrance

The main entrance is accessed through the courtyard facing the Embarcadero, across from the Aquarium of the Bay. Badge access is required to enter the building.

Secondary entrance

A second entrance is located on Bay Street, adjacent to the parking garage entrance. Badge access is also required to enter the building through this entrance.

A security desk is located by the main entrance on the first floor for any questions regarding the building. Here are instructions on how to get your UCSF ID card.

Parking

The parking garage entrance is on North Point Street between Embarcadero and Grant Street. Parking is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve system. All UCSF Employees can access the garage with their UCSF ID badge and pay for parking via the PayByPhone website or mobile app. The employee parking rate is $5/hour and $26 daily maximum. There is an intercom by the main elevator door if you need to call Security for elevator access or any emergency situation. If assistance from Security is needed for HR Suite, please visit the Security desk near the main entrance on the first floor.

$15 indoor covered parking is available using SpotHero at 2210 Stockton St. Parking is also available one block away at the Pier 39 Parking Garage. More info can be found at Pier 39 Parking & Directions. The advance reservation daily rate is $25.

HR workstations and offices are located on the second floor; suite entrance is through the door by the elevator hallway.

Workstations

HR workstations are located to the left of the 2200 doors. There are 21 designated WS for HR: 2221, 2222, 2223, 2224, 2225, 2226, 2228, 2229, 2230, 2231, 2233, 2234, 2235, 2236, 2237, 2238, 2239, 2240, 2241, 2242, and 2243.

The open-plan model is an active space where we encourage meetings at the desk and casual conversations, while also being mindful of our neighbors. The expectation is that voices and speaking are normal, and people should plan to use noise-cancelling headsets. Individuals are expected to take their non-confidential Zoom meetings or phone calls at their desks. Wipe down work surfaces before and after daily use. Empty recycling and trash bins in Breakrooms before you depart for the day.

Copy rooms

The printer is located in room 228. The HR account code for the printer is: 674920

To add the printer to your computer, follow Add Printer Instructions  

If you require IT support to map the network printers, please make an appointment with ITFS before your first day in the office by calling x4-4100 or chat with ITFS help desk.

Basic office supplies are available in the black cabinets by workstation 2244. 

Breakrooms/ kitchen

Breakroom 226

This breakroom includes a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Keurig K-Cups are stored in the black supply cabinets near workstation 2244. Hot water is available through the coffee maker, and cold water is available at the nearby water fountain.

Breakroom 202A (main breakroom)

This shared breakroom includes two full-size refrigerators, a microwave, and a toaster oven. Please note that this space is shared with multiple departments, so be responsible for storing and cleaning up your personal items. This breakroom has a cafeteria seating looking out to the bay. 

There is no food or drinks provided by the department or available for purchase at this time. Facilities provide daily recycling, composting and trash pickup in the breakrooms and common areas only. Always clean up after yourselves after each use.

Conference rooms

There are two conference rooms available: Rooms 225 and 257. These rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Huddle rooms

There are four huddle rooms available: Rooms 245, 251, 260, and 246. These rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis. Huddle rooms are not to be used as office space. Please wipe down before and after each use. 

Restrooms

Women’s and men’s restrooms are located in the main hallway; turn right after getting off the elevators.

Additional restroom and shower facilities are located on the first floor.
