Getting your vaccination
You can receive a flu vaccination at Occupational Health Services locations starting October 2nd.
Additional options include:
- Your primary care provider
- Local pharmacy covered by your primary care insurance (i.e. CVS, Costco, Safeway)
- Additional options for UC Employees, Postdoctoral Scholars, and Trainees to obtain flu vaccines
If you receive a flu vaccination from an outside provider, please submit your vaccination record via the OHS Portal (VPN MyAccess required from a UCSF computer) or email the record to [email protected].
Declining the flu vaccine
You can decline the flu vaccination via the OHS Portal (VPN/My Access required from a UCSF computer) or complete the following form and email it to [email protected].
Influenza policy information
Influenza is a serious respiratory disease; on average, 34,000 Americans die every year from influenza-related causes. Flu vaccinations are mandatory for employees, physicians and learners across UCSF, including BCH Oakland, per directives from the San Francisco Department of Public Health, the Alameda County Public Health Department, and the UC Executive Order.

For the 2023-2024 influenza season: You must have your flu shot and submit either documentation or a declination by Nov. 1, 2023.
