UCSF HR Shared Services partners campus Human Resources (HR) Managers, Business Partners and Generalists with departments to provide efficient and effective services supporting academics, staff, and postdoctoral scholars across the employee life-cycle. Specifically, Shared Services:
- Provides consultative and transactional services to managers and supervisors to support department decision-making on HR matters
- Helps departments and employees navigate HR policies and procedures to accomplish business goals and address individual needs
- Advises departments on how to achieve objectives within university policy and compliance requirements
- Liaises with academic and staff specialty centers to advise on and resolve customer cases
- Strives to provide consistently excellent service that meet Service Partnership Agreement (SPA) standards, including the timely and accurate delivery of consultative and transactional services
- Strives for mutual operational efficiencies between service centers and departments
- Maintains ongoing communication regarding progress/delays on matters requiring resolution, as well as routine feedback on timelines, outcomes and issues to ensure continuous quality improvement
- Service Center directors and managers ensure that service center staff
- Acquire knowledge/skills required to support the department's HR business needs
- Develop core competencies to implement department's HR business objectives
- Support department strategy and decisions by providing transactional, consultative and strategic support
- Deploy resources appropriately to meet customer service requirements
HR Shared Services consists of an HR service center with Academic, Staff, and Postdoc service lines, the Transaction Services Unit (TSU), and the HR Business Services office.
