UCPath Enhancements Supporting Gender Recognition, Sexual Orientation and Pronouns

All employees will be prompted to make selections on gender identity, sexual orientation and pronouns after the changes go into effect on July 15.

Effective July 15, UCPath will update its online employee interface with a modern design to better capture gender identity, sexual orientation, and pronouns for employees. These enhancements align with the University of California’s Gender Recognition and Lived Name (GRLN) policy. To implement these changes, UCPath will be unavailable starting Friday, July 12 at 12:00 pm through Monday, July 15, at 6:00 am.

Action Needed: All employees will be prompted to take the following actions the first time they log into UCPath on/after July 15:

  • Employees must select an option from a list on the gender identity, sexual orientation, and pronouns pages before they can review self-service pages, including earnings statements. Gender identity and sexual orientation information will be treated as confidential information and employees can also select an option of Decline to State.
  • Employees will be prompted to select a pronoun option and choose whether to display the pronoun with their name. Pronouns will appear in every UCPath online location where lived name (not legal name) is listed. Pronouns will also be seen by the UCPath Employee Services team and Managers. Employees can change their pronouns at any time.
