Updated Guidance on UCSF's Background Check Process
These FAQs offer more transparency for candidates and are intended to help remove barriers to employment opportunities
As part of an effort to be more transparent to candidates and new hires at UCSF, the HR website now offers updated guidance on the background check process and substance use screening. The information is relevant for both campus and health hires.
These FAQs were written specifically to remove perceptions among the community that candidates who have been involved in the justice system could not gain employment at UCSF. This is part of UCSF’s continued efforts to remove barriers to employment opportunities for people of color, and those who are from historically under-resourced communities.
Please share these FAQs with anyone interested in opportunities at UCSF who want to better understand the background check and substance use screening process.
