Dolatabadi Named Clinical Director, Faculty and Staff Assistance Program

New clinical director aspires to create a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals and groups at UCSF

Dr. Ana Dolatabadi, PsyD, MA, has been named clinical director of the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), effective Feb. 1. She has served as interim FSAP manager since July 2022 following the retirement of Dr. Andrew Parker.

Dr. Dolatabadi brings great depth of experience in fostering growth and development of individuals and groups. She came to UCSF in 2016 to complete her fellowship after receiving a master’s in transpersonal psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Palo Alto, and a doctorate in psychology from Sofia University, Palo Alto.

Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Dolatabadi joined FSAP as a clinical psychologist and coordinator of clinical fellowship training. 

In her new role, Dr. Dolatabadi will continue to provide and oversee the delivery of high-quality psychological services while creating a supportive and inclusive environment for clients. Her commitment to promoting overall well-being is reflected in her passion for expanding her reach within the UCSF community and creating a supportive culture for emotional and mental health.

As a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in organizational psychology, Dr. Dolatabadi specializes in helping employees navigate work-related and personal stress. With roots in Iran, her cultural heritage adds to her understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives and experiences. She has led numerous speaking engagements and psychoeducational workshops over the course of her career. Her background in psychology and sociology, combined with her commitment to evidence-based practices and patient-centered care, has allowed her to gain experience in various settings, including community mental health, college campuses, and the private sector.
