Biography
Amy Jessen, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) at UCSF. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, a Master’s degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Dr. Jessen completed her pre-doctoral internship at the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, where she provided both short- and long-term psychotherapy to adults. Her clinical training and interests focus on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, and trauma.
Dr. Jessen’s approach is integrative, drawing from mindfulness practices, solution-focused techniques, somatic interventions, and psychodynamic methods, which she tailors to meet each client’s goals. She values creating a safe, respectful, and growth-oriented space where individuals from diverse backgrounds can explore both challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Jessen has a lifelong passion for psychology and finds meaning in working with individuals and groups across community, professional, and academic settings.
