Corey Jackson, JD

Corey oversees all talent management and human resources functions across UCSF’s academic, research, administrative, and clinical departments, partnering closely with Academic Affairs to support the academic life cycle. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Corey leads efforts to attract, develop, and retain the diverse talent necessary for UCSF to be the world's preeminent health sciences innovator.

Corey’s background encompasses health care, government, law, sports, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The common thread in Corey’s work over the years: his commitment to creating opportunities that help people have better lives. Before joining UCSF, Corey was Executive Vice President – Chief Talent Officer at Parkland Health & Hospital Systems in Dallas, Texas.

Prior to Parkland, Corey was Vice President for Compliance, Diversity and Ethics at George Mason University, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and a legislative counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Corey holds a juris doctor from the University of Miami, School of Law and a bachelor of science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.

Corey is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar and Maryland State Bar, Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Corey is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and also is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), and Certified Diversity Professional – Diversity Training University International. He is affiliated with World at Work – The Total Rewards Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Jeffrey Chiu

Vice President/Assistant Vice Chancellor, Talent Management and Operations

Jeffrey is responsible for driving and leading Human Resources talent management strategy and operations to carry out UCSF’s mission, vision and goals. He oversees Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning and Organization Development, Labor and Employee Relations, and HR Business Partners for UCSF and UCSF Health.

Since joining UCSF in 1999, Jeffrey has held many different roles in Human Resources, increasing responsibility as he moved from an individual contributor to supervisor, to manager, and most recently vice president, Human Resources, UCSF Health prior to his current role. He began his career as a temporary recruiting assistant with UCSF Stanford Health Care, was hired as a permanent employee within a few months, and has been with the organization through its transition from UCSF Stanford Health Care to UCSF Medical Center to UCSF Health.

Jeffrey grew up in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University, receiving bachelor's degrees in marketing and psychology and a master's degree in human resources management.
