UCSF is committed to maintaining a safe environment, free from bullying, intimidation, threats and/or acts of violence. When faced with such situations, UCSF will take prompt steps to assess, investigate, and/or take remedial actions as appropriate.
Definition
Bullying/abusive conduct is defined as behavior of an individual or group of individuals that a reasonable person would find hostile, offensive, oppressive and/or humiliating. It may include repeated infliction of verbal abuse, such as the use of derogatory remarks, insults and epithets, verbal or physical conduct that a reasonable person would find threatening, intimidating or humiliating, or the gratuitous sabotage or undermining of a person’s work performance. A single act shall not constitute abusive conduct, unless especially severe and egregious.

What to do
To report emergency situations, imminent threats of violence or prior violence, contact the UCSF Police Department.
