A brief overview of the process to complete the action.

Non-occupational leaves of absence (LOA) refer to leaves of absence that are not due to work-incurred injuries or illnesses. Non-occupational LOAs can occur for many reasons. A non-occupational leave of absence may be requested to:

  • Care for the employee’s own serious health condition
  • Care for a family member with a serious health condition
  • Pregnancy disability leave
  • Bonding with a newborn, adopted child, or child placed for foster care
