A brief overview of the process to complete the action.

Employees appointed to a career position, with the exception of Manager and Senior Professionals (MSP) and Senior Management Group (SMG) employees, generally serve a probationary period of six months. During the probationary period an employee may be released at the sole discretion of the University.

The probationary period should be used to ensure that the applicant selected has the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the job.
