The UCSF HR Employee Recognition Program Selection Committee is pleased to announce the most recent recipients of the UCSF HR Employee of the Month Award: Lidziya (Lidia) Shakhnovich and Brad Nakano! Congratulations to them both! In addition to recognition, they will each receive a certificate and $50 gift card.

Name: Lidia Shakhnovich
Job Title: Talent Acquisition Coordinator
HR Team/Work Unit: Talent Acquisition

Why Nominated:

Lidia was nominated for being a great colleague and having great work ethics. With the implementation of UCPath and training, recent hiring freeze, working remotely, and recent ratification of many of our contracts, there have been a recent increase of wage changes. We were fortunate to have Lidia's assistance with Technical Unit (EX) and Service Unit (SX) lump sum payment implementations. She worked closely with the Compensation team and rapidly gathered much needed information from managers.

"She expeditiously sent ALL emails to 32 managers the same day that I sent her the file. I did not expect them all to go out the same day, but her efficiency and commitment to our short timeline is much appreciated. Lidia also has shown same dedication on the follow up and tracking of the SX Wage Implementation Worksheets. Lidia's assistance tremendously helped the Compensation and Staff Shared Service teams.”

What does Lidia enjoy doing outside of work?

“In my free time, I like going for walks, traveling, and exploring new places. My favorite indoor activities are reading books and watching movies.”

Name: Brad Nakano
Job Title: Communications and Website Analyst
HR Team/Work Unit: HR Communications

Why Nominated:

Brad was nominated for outstanding customer service, being a great colleague, and having great work ethics. A recent project had some time sensitive needs for new PeopleConnect Knowledge Articles to be published, so clients could access them to begin carrying out new activities with HR at the beginning of May. Currently, there are many urgent needs from the HR Communications team; however, Brad’s turnaround time exceeded expectations and he accomplished the task a few weeks earlier than anticipated.

“I wasn't so sure how quickly these knowledge articles could be published, or if we'd be able to get them published by our needed time. Brad came through with full dedication, responsiveness and professionalism, and got our articles published earlier than expected. I am grateful for his quick and effective work, and I know it will make a great impact on people being able to carry out process steps successfully. Thank you Brad - you rock!!”

What does Brad enjoy doing outside of work?

“Before the shelter-in-place, I’ve enjoyed playing competitive basketball and practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and also spending as much time as I can with my family. Now that we are limited to activities and contact, I’m enjoying the family time even more, and the opportunity to play basketball, run around with my son, bbq, and roast marshmallows in our backyard.”
