Now Live - Straight Replacement, New Position, Like Job Recruitment Requests

Today, UCSF HR is excited to launch two new Campus staff recruitment types for the campus community: 

  1. Straight Replacement: A recruitment that directly replaces an individual who is leaving the role with minimal changes to the job description that was classified on or after November 1, 2017.
  2. New Position, Like Job: A recruitment for a new position whose duties are similar to a position with a job description that was approved by UCSF HR Compensation on or after November 1, 2017, and the job description submitted for the new position has minimal changes. 

    • For policy-covered positions of both recruitment types, the approved classification must be on a Career Tracks template.

We heard from you that the recruitment request process needed improvement. Since March, client partners representing all of the control points have worked closely with HR to design the new recruitment types, revised process, and governance structure. The input gained through this partnership will improve the customer experience when hiring replacement positions and like jobs. We expect two additional benefits from these new staff recruitment types: improved Service Partnership Agreement (SPA) turnaround times and fewer instances of classifying the same or like jobs multiple times.
