On December 9, UCSF HR will deploy the Straight Replacement/New Position, Like Job recruitment process.  To support successful use of this new process, UCSF HR is providing the following resources:

1. Webinar recording: October 15 Summary of Improvements to Straight Replacement / New Position, Like Job process. Presented by Katy Rau, Director of Staff Shared Services.

2. Process Training:  UCSF HR and Learning and Organizational Development have created eLearning resources hosted in the UC Learning Center.

As noted in a previous communication, the online materials will aid learners in understanding:

  • High level overview of workflow and handoffs
  • Important process steps and criteria for submitting requests for the new recruitment types of Straight Replacement and New Position, Like Job
  • The difference between ‘minimal’ and ‘significant’ changes to a job description

In addition to the direct course link, the eLearning materials can be searched in the UC Learning Center as follows:

  • People Leader coursework title:  HR Compensation Series: Straight Replacement & New Position, Like Job Process for People Leaders
  • Search terms to use in the UC Learning Center:  Straight Replacement; New Position, Like Job; Compensation

3. Drop-In Q & A Sessions:  HR will host weekly drop-in Q & A sessions via Zoom.  Although you are welcome to contact your HR Staff Generalist at any time, you are also being provided an additional avenue to ask questions about the process, which may include requirements for submitting this new type of request, how to locate the most recently approved Job Description, requesting a demo of submitting this type of request in PeopleConnect Management Actions, etc.

Individuals from the HR Staff Services Teams will host the weekly sessions on the following dates and times. Click on the links below to register for that date’s virtual session:

Note:  There are no sessions on December 25 and January 1. We encourage you to contact your HR Staff Generalist during this period with any questions.

Please contact your HR Staff Manager with any questions.
