UCSF Human Resources is pleased to announce that UC President Napolitano has approved a system wide salary program for policy-covered (non-represented) staff employees for fiscal year 2020. The salary program was announced directly to UCSF policy-covered staff on July 2, 2019.

At UCSF, the FY20 Salary Program will consist of two components:

  1. Merit-based salary program increases for policy-covered career employees using a 3% budget control point. Per the guidelines set forth by UC President Napolitano, salary increases under this program will be merit-based and vary depending on individual performance evaluation ratings. This program is not intended to be a 3% across the board increase. 
  2. Administration of a salary focal equity review designed to address the most significant salary issues using a 1% budget control point and are not intended to be a 1% across the board increase.

The increases for the FY20 Salary Program will be retroactive to July 1, 2019 for monthly paid employees and June 30, 2019 for bi-weekly paid employees.

As a result of the delayed notification, there is an expedited schedule and process to deliver these pay increases to eligible employees as soon as possible. Campuses across the system are doing their best to implement as swiftly as possible, and we share this goal. The Merit Eligibility Chart is currently posted online. HR Administrative Guidelines and other relevant salary program materials will be available early next week. The following timeline provides a high-level summary of key dates.
