The UCSF HR Employee Recognition Program Selection Committee is pleased to announce the most recent recipients of the UCSF HR Employee of the Month Award: Lorina Gee and Eric Fethe! Congratulations to them both! In addition to recognition, they will each receive a certificate and a $50 gift card.

Name: Lorina Gee
Job Title: Academic HR Generalist
HR Team/Work Unit: Academic Shared Services

Why Nominated:

Lorina was nominated for her outstanding customer service, being a great colleague, having good work ethics and for innovative ideas and thinking. Here are some excerpts from Lorina’s nomination:

Lorina is always willing to lend a hand during team vacancies or vacations/illnesses. There have been many complicated situations with appointments or advancements and she has been resourceful to finding the answers and proposing solutions for our discussion. Once a solution is determined, she finds ways to use what she learns and applies to other cases, as well as share her knowledge with others (team meetings or in conversation with other teammates).

Lorina was also praised by the department for her work during this past academic renewal cycle. One department manager stated that, “Lorina is a rising star!” Academic renewals is always an extremely busy time, requiring one to be detailed and organized. This was Lorina’s first time handling this process and I would agree that Lorina did a great job!

What does Lorina enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending quality time with my family and exploring new restaurants around the bay area.”

Name: Eric Fethe
Job Title: Postdoctoral HR Generalist
HR Team/Work Unit: Postdoctoral Shared Services

Why Nominated:

Eric was nominated for outstanding customer service, being a great colleague and for his good work ethics. Here are some excerpts from Eric’s nomination:

Recently we had a request for a unique visa application for an incoming postdoc. Eric took the time to find out all the details of what the department needed to provide. He responded promptly to any questions we had and moved the paperwork along to ISSO in a very timely manner. At the last minute we found out that one of the forms we submitted needed to be provided to ISSO as a hard copy, not a scan. Eric personally biked over from LH to PH to pick up the form and take it to the ISSO office at Mission Bay.

This above and beyond effort combined with the consistent support he provides, truly makes him a valuable contributor to the Broad Center for Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research mission and to UCSF. Thank you Eric!

What does Eric enjoy doing outside of work?

“I enjoy going for bike rides in the bay area and walking around Lake Merritt on weekends with my wife.”
