The UCSF HR Employee Recognition Program Selection Committee is pleased to announce the Employee of the Month Award recipient for September 2018, Emily Hong! In addition to Emily’s recognition, she will receive a certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.

Name: Emily Hong

Job Title: Senior Compensation Analyst

HR Team/Work Unit: Compensation

Why Nominated: Emily received multiple nominations this month for outstanding customer service, innovative thinking, good work ethics and for being a great colleague. Following are some excerpts from the different nominations:

“Emily's careful and timely review of HRSRS staff packets including new hires, reclassifications and approval memos have enabled new supervisors and managers to thoroughly grasp and understand the integrity of the job description and use of job standards to accurately assign job functions and delineate responsibilities.”

“Emily recently worked on two JDs. She helped provide additional language that fit into an appropriate category for the new position and guided me to the correct job family that I was not aware of. She often will contact me by phone so that we don't lose the important information that can only be done via the phone and not the online system.”

“I worked with Emily on a complex reclassification. Emily was extremely knowledgeable and helped guide me through every step. Even through multiple iterations and questions, Emily was available and kind. I could not have accomplished this task without her being responsive, a team player, and creative with solutions to complex issues. Emily is amazing!”

What does Emily enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy traveling, reading and watching movies.”
