The UCSF campus workers' compensation rate for FY 17-18 is $0.79 /$100 payroll, a reduction of $0.01 or 1.3%. UCSF campus is the second lowest rate among the campus locations.   

Our loss rate (Dollars of Loss per $100 of Payroll):  

  • is 25% lower than the average campus rate
  • has continued a downward trend over the past two years compared to the average campus rate which has stayed relatively flat
  • has remained consistently below the average campus rate for the past seven years

While our claim severity is 3.7% above the campus average this year (but down from last year), our claim frequency:

  • is 30% lower than the average campus rate
  • has continued a downward trend over the past two years 
  • has remained consistently below the average campus rate for the past seven years
