In 2016, UCSF Human Resources and the Office of Diversity and Outreach convened a workgroup of department representatives to analyze business needs associated with the use of the UCSF Quick Hire process and recommend alternatives that support and facilitate UCSF’s business needs. The objective of the workgroup was to improve continued compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) requirements that federal contractors post/recruit for any position that will not be filled by an internal employee, and that will last longer than three (3) days.

Over the past year, HR has taken initial steps to explore the feasibility of the recommended options. Based on progress, UCSF will phase out the Quick Hire process by December 2018

As we prepare for this change, much more information, as well as tools to support adoption of alternative processes will be shared. Our goal is to ease this transition by providing an extended period to help departments transition to alternative processes for hiring short-term employees
