The STAR award is a great opportunity to reward employees for accomplishments contributing to UCSF’s success. UCSF HR is excited to share that the FY18 UCSF STAR Recognition program has been approved by UC Office of the President. Administrative Guidelines and Department Implementation Overview are available here (requires MyAccess login).

Stay tuned as UCSF HR will publish the specific dates for next year’s program, such as deadlines to submit nomination forms and payment dates. Your feedback is appreciated! While the Administrative Guidelines are the same as last year, UCSF HR is working to incorporate feedback received where possible.  There will be an opportunity for formal feedback via survey in September 2017 to recommend changes to the FY19 UCSF STAR program.

The following are some upcoming high-level dates for the FY18 STAR program:

  • July 2017: HR will communicate to control points on the process to convert remaining FY17 STAR funds to FY18 STAR Budget or Training/Development Budget.
  • August 2017: Distribute FY18 STAR funds to control points. Control points to communicate to departments  regarding local process for STAR program administration. Additional FY18 STAR documents such as STAR Award Nomination Form, STAR Award Letter, and Payment Award Calendar will be published.
    • Training webinar to FY18 STAR Program Administrators on FY18 STAR Program on Friday, August 25 from 10–11 a.m. Details will be forthcoming.
