As announced over the last couple of months on UCnet, the University is beginning a “Family Member Eligibility Verification” (FMEV) recertification process for some faculty and staff that have any of the following family members enrolled in their UC-sponsored health plans. UC Office of the President has stated that only these family members will be recertified because eligibility can change over time due to divorce, separation, or changes in tax status.

  • Spouses
  • Domestic Partners
  • Grandchildren
  • Legal Wards

In early April Secova, the University’s Family Member Eligibility Verification partner, will mail recertification packets to faculty and staff with instructions on how to submit the appropriate documentation.

If you are contacted by Secova, you must submit your completed and signed verification form and required documentation to Secova by May 12, 2017.

Taking timely action is very important - failure to comply with the recertification notifications sent by Secova may result in the de-enrollment of your unverified dependents.

Please contact the benefits office at [email protected] or 415/476-1400 with any questions.
