The March HR Liaison Meeting will include training on the use of student interns, along with the refreshed submission and review process. Below you will find additional information regarding the background of student intern titles. 

Staff Shared Services and the Compensation Unit have been evaluating the current use of the student intern titles due to changes resulting from the implementation of Career Tracks and associated with OFCCP compliance.  The student intern titles have been excluded from the Career Tracks implementation due to the salary ranges associated with the P1 levels of most functions.

Additionally, for the past several months a Quick Hire Workgroup—composed of department, Office of Diversity and Outreach, and HR representatives—has been focused on addressing the best way to meet the OFCCP requirement for open recruitment and continue to meet the short-term, immediate needs of departments. The workgroup did not address the unique needs related to student intern titles but recognized them as a group requiring further discussion.  

This new process will be effective April 3.
