Notification submitted by International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO).

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has just published a new rule that raises immigration filing fees. Relevant fee changes for employment-related petitions and benefits are listed in the table below. All H-1B requests submitted by HR to ISSO on or after Dec. 1 must include checks written with the new DHS fee amounts. Unfortunately, H-1B requests that are submitted with the old fees on or after Dec. 1 will be returned. This deadline will help ensure HR and ISSO are sending requests to the government with the correct fees to prevent delays.

The ISSO has worked with HR directors to notify departments that checks submitted to HR on or after Nov. 18 must include the new DHS fees. Our hope is that allowing this lead time will help support the transition to the new fees.
