This is a reminder that the campus transition to a calendar-based annual performance evaluation cycle will conclude on Dec. 31, 2016. Annual performance evaluations for all eligible employees (both career and contract) with appointments of 50 percent or more are due to HR Shared Services by close of business March 15, 2017.

HR Shared Services will provide consultation, live webinars, documents and tools, and general support to campus managers and supervisors to complete this process. An additional reminder and the schedule of Performance Evaluation Best Practices webinars will be sent out via HR Update closer to the end of the 2016 calendar year.

Campus has started a shift to a pay-for-performance methodology. The following principles were established in the 2016 salary program:

  • Staff with higher performance levels should receive a higher percentage merit increase relative to peers with satisfactory performance
  • Across-the-board merit increases are not allowed
    • Defined as all employees receiving the same percentage increase regardless of performance rating

A full shift to this new methodology will likely take several years. Campus HR is committed to partnering with departments and will provide tools and resources starting in 2017.

Please contact your assigned HR Staff Generalist or Staff Manager if you have any questions regarding the 2016 calendar year performance evaluation process.
