The Department of Labor issued a ruling which will significantly increase the minimum salary level generally required for exemption from minimum wage and overtime obligations. This legislation goes into effect Dec. 1, 2016. A UCSF project team is working closely with the UC Office of the President to address the impact of this ruling both system-wide and locally across campuses to inform best practices for implementation which may require engaging in negotiations with the impacted unions.
