The UCSF Office of Diversity and Outreach (ODO), under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor for Diversity, Dr. Renee Navarro, serves the diversity education and training needs for the entire UCSF community. In an effort to expand professional development offerings for UCSF Staff, the ODO has recently launched a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate program focused on building skills toward creating a more inclusive climate.

This Certificate curriculum uses a Social Justice framework to delve into foundational concepts related to increasing one’s cultural humility. Description and schedule of topics can be found here. The program will include valuable concepts and actions to enhance inclusion and overcome barriers to it.

In-person meetings will include experiential activities, small group discussions, and UCSF leaders as guest co-facilitators for increased networking opportunities. Participants will meet twice a month for 2.5 hours each time, with a total commitment of 40 hours over 4 months (including time for in-between session assignments).  Read more about the program here.

If you, or your staff, are interested in opportunities to further your capacity to work across differences, you can submit an application now.

The deadline for applying is June 20th.
