The following are newly scheduled development offerings from January–April 2016. Registration instructions and course details are included in the flyer related to each course. 

The Winter 2016 Campus Management Practices Series – NEW! 
The Campus Management Practices Series offers short sessions on a variety of topics designed to help you navigate certain Campus-specific management responsibilities and learn key human resource policies and procedures. New supervisors and above are encouraged to complete this series in their first 6 months. Registration is open; you can register for each session separately.  

Leading the Frontline Series, February–April
This series will start on Feb. 23 and is offered to current supervisors, frontline managers, or staff members who are targeted for promotion to a supervisor or management role within six months of the program. It develops core competencies essential for success in a frontline leadership role. Enrollment in this program is not available through the UC Learning Center. 

Managing Challenging Patient Behaviors, March 11
This is an all-day session that provides a framework for understanding challenging patient behaviors and engaging patients with a balance of empathy and respectful limit setting. It offers best practices for addressing these behaviors, as well as an opportunity to do scenario-based role playing to practice responses to challenging patient behaviors. 

Accomplishing More with Less, March 25
This highly popular one-day workshop helps participants to harness the power of organizational skills to deal with today’s most pressing workplace issues such as time management, prioritization, dealing with interruptions, email, calendars, and to-do lists, as well as organizing electronic and paper documents. 

Microsoft Excel Workshops–March 30
Microsoft Excel Intermediate, 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
This half-day workshop is for business users who are already familiar with Microsoft Excel and want to take their skills to the next level. Participants will learn powerful techniques that can help them save significant time, analyze data and extract important business insights, present information in a compelling way, and collaborate with others more effectively.  
Microsoft Excel Advanced, 1–4:30 p.m
In this half-day workshop, you will learn the most powerful capabilities of Excel Pivot Tables and how they can be utilized to analyze your data and present your findings in compelling ways. 

Microsoft PowerPoint Workshops–Feb. 9
Microsoft PowerPoint Intermediate, 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
In this half-day workshop, you will learn powerful techniques to better manipulate and format presentations, convey information in an engaging way, and collaborate with others more effectively. It will provide understanding of the features of PowerPoint – beginner through intermediate.
Microsoft PowerPoint Advanced, 1–4:30 p.m.
With PowerPoint’s style, multimedia and animation features, you will be able to develop powerful, informative, inspiring and professional presentations. This workshop will help you build proficiency in PowerPoint, and the necessary knowledge to create more compelling presentations.
