Due to increasing concerns and feedback from the campus on the ability to recruit Clinical Research Coordinators at the higher levels, the UCSF Campus is modifying the requirement for certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRA). Effective for positions posted on or after Jan. 4, 2016, the requirement for certification will change from a required qualification to a preferred qualification. For positions posted prior to Jan. 4 2016, but remain open, the requirements will be updated moving SOCRA/ACRA certification to preferred (this will not interrupt recruitment efforts).

Incumbents who are selected for Senior Clinical Research Coordinator or Clinical Research Coordinator Supervisor positions without the certification shall be required to obtain the certification within one year of starting employment at UCSF. The template job descriptions that are posted on the UCSF website will be updated with this change the week of Jan. 4. To ensure consistency, this same requirement will be utilized in reclassifications to either the Senior CRC Coordinator or Supervisor title codes.
