You may recall that as a result of the Affordable Care Act, effective Jan. 1, 2016, new benefits eligibility rules are taking effect for employees who have historically been excluded from benefits eligibility and new continuing eligibility rules will be implemented for all employees enrolled in benefits.

UCSF HR has completed the annual review for initial and continuing benefits eligibility. Based on the Standard Measurement Period reports, we have determined that five employees will be newly eligible for the Core benefits package effective Jan. 1, 2016. An additional 13 employees will become eligible for Core benefits based on the attributes of their appointments meeting the new eligibility criteria. The employees’ HR Generalists and departments have already been informed, and the employees will soon be receiving a communication alerting them of their new eligibility.

Please see the Changes to Initial and Continuing Eligibility for Benefits HR Update article for details on the new eligibility rules and the Standard Measurement Period parameters.
