Campus Pregnancy Disability Workshop

Campus Human Resources offers a Pregnancy Disability Leave Workshop twice monthly to enable staff and non-faculty academic employees to create a personalized plan for their pregnancy leave.  

Please advise your campus employees of the workshop and feel free to post and forward the workshop flyer.

During the workshop participants will learn about:

  • What actions to take before, during, and after a pregnancy leave
  • CA state and federal leave protections: Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Family and Medical Leave (FML), and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA)
  • Policies/contracts covering usage of sick leave and vacation leave 
  • Liberty Mutual Disability Insurance Coverage
  • How to continue health benefits during a Leave Without Pay (LWOP)

Logistics:

  • Mission Center Building (MCB): Second Thursday of each month, 1:30–3:30 p.m., Conf. Room 500
  • Laurel Heights: Last Tuesday of each month, 9:30–11:30 a.m., Conf. Room 263

Employees should enroll in the workshop via the UC Learning Center and should plan to attend when they are within 6–8 weeks of their expected delivery date.
