Dear Colleagues,

Mike Tyburski, Director of the Human Resources Specialty Center, is leaving UCSF this fall after nearly 15 years of service in various HR leadership roles.

Mike joined UCSF in 2001 after a distinguished career in HR at the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. As Director of Human Resources at UCSF he led the campus HR department, overseeing staffing, compensation, labor and employee relations, development and training, and HR information systems as well as benefits administration, disability management and employee assistance programs. He also managed these services for UC Office of the President. In 2011, he successfully transitioned to leading the HR Specialty Center as part of the restructuring of HR services at UCSF. Since then, he has partnered with HR colleagues and campus leaders to oversee specialized HR functions.

Mike’s deep expertise in all areas of employee programs and policies has been an invaluable resource for UCSF, and he will be missed. Please join me in thanking Mike for his dedicated service to UCSF and wishing him well in the future.

UCSF HR will assess the organizational needs related to overseeing the HR specialty functions. Please watch for additional communications about transition plans soon.

Regards,
David
