There has been feedback that the message regarding the FY 15/16 Salary Program has caused confusion. The following are some clarifying points for this year’s anticipated merit program:

  • If an employee has received a Performance Evaluation (PE) between July 1, 2014, and July 31, 2015, this will be used as the PE rating for this year’s merit program
    • If the performance rating has changed, then a new PE should be submitted no later than July 31, 2015 (an extension of the original July 17, 2015, deadline)
  • If there is no rating on file between July 1, 2014, and July 31, 2015, then a PE should be submitted by the July 31, 2015, deadline
  • If there is no rating on file and none is submitted, then the employee will default to a rating of "Meets"
  • For areas where there is a STAR goal related to PE compliance, please refer to the deadline established by your control point leadership

It is important to acknowledge this is indeed a challenging year due to the delay in notice and details about the salary program. We are still awaiting final details and go ahead from the Office of the President. In addition, the transition in the performance evaluation cycle to a calendar year has many departments looking at their internal process. The great news is that it looks like we have a multi-year commitment for a salary program and, with the shift in performance evaluation cycle, we should have a more meaningful and streamlined process in the future.

You should also be aware that the lateness of this year’s merit program will result in several months of retroactive payroll that must be manually prepared and then keyed into the payroll system. Your patience is appreciated.
