On June 24, 2015, UC President Napolitano announced that with the approval of the State budget for FY15/16 the University is able to budget for salary increases for faculty and non-represented staff over the next several years. We do not yet have salary program details or timing from the Office of President, but hope to hear more soon. In anticipation of an expected salary program for FY15/16, we want to remind managers/supervisors that a current performance appraisal and performance rating is needed.

Typically, an employee must have received a performance evaluation within the last 12 months preceding the merit increase (July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015). The merit/focal equity tool will pull this information for use for this merit cycle. Please note the following:

  • If you still need to complete an evaluation for the period ending June 30, 2015, this must be submitted to HR no later July 17, 2015. Evaluations should be submitted electronically to the following team mailboxes:
  • Employees without a performance evaluation on file for the time period of July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015, will default to "meets."

More information will be coming soon on how to access the new merit/focal equity tool and on a final timeline for this year’s merit and focal equity review. Questions can be directed to your HR Generalist or Manager.
