Career Tracks Goes Live July 1, 2015

Career Tracks job classification has concluded for non-represented IT employees at UCSF campus and medical center!  

Career Tracks will replace UC’s outdated job classification framework with a market-based system for all MSP and PSS employees effective July 1. The goal of Career Tracks is to group jobs into more clearly defined families and functions that better align with comparable jobs at other UC locations and in the external labor market.  

Similar programs have been successfully implemented at UC Berkeley, UC Merced, the Office of the President, Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR), and Santa Cruz. The vision is to implement Career Tracks at all UC campuses and medical centers over the next few years.

Sixty-minute webinars have been scheduled as follows:

  • Managers are highly encouraged to attend one of the sessions above to learn more about the new program.
  • Employees will be notified of their new job title in Career Tracks during late June. "All Employees" sessions are scheduled to coincide with these notifications. While no RSVP is required, each session can accommodate up to 100 participants, so space is limited to a first-come basis.

At this time, Career Tracks is being implemented for policy-covered, or non-represented, staff positions only, although any employee is welcome to attend the information sessions.
