Congratulations on your new position with UCSF Medical Center! UC’s Health and Welfare benefits are an important part of your total compensation package.  It’s important to take some time to decide which benefits are right for you and your family. Once you have made your selections, be sure to enroll on AtYourService, within the first 31 days in your new position. It’s also a good idea look over your first few paychecks after enrolling to ensure you have enrolled in the right plans.

UC provides excellent resources to help you be an informed benefits consumer.



The UC NET website provides in-depth information on all of the benefits available to you. The website includes short videos on how to select your benefits, links to the insurance plans we offer, premium calculators for supplemental plans, and much more. It’s a good idea to bookmark this site as your benefit needs may change during your career at UCSF.


Benefits Orientation

Benefits eligibile new hires and newly eligible employees are highly encouraged to attend the Benefits Orientation (see offer letter for benefits eligibility) at our HR Office.  You have only 31 days from your date of hire to enroll in benefits.  If you plan on attending a Benefits Orientation, please do so before the 31 days are up.  Benefits Orientations are held every Thursday from 10:00 am - 12 noon at 3360 Geary Boulevard, Suite 301, San Francisco, CA 94118.

Benefits Welcome Packets

UC’s benefit Welcome Packets include four helpful guides on UC Health and Retirement Benefits. Welcome Packets are handed out at the benefits orientation; but can also be found on-line
