UCSF Human Resources is comprised of:

  • HR Shared Services
  • Academic Affairs
  • HR Specialty Center

Human Resources Shared Services partners campus Human Resources (HR) Directors, Managers, and Generalists with departments to provide efficient and effective services supporting academics, staff, and postdoctoral scholars across the employee life cycle. In addition, the Transactional Services Unit (TSU) keys campus transactions into the payroll system.

Academic Affairs is comprised of staff that specializes in academic labor and employee relations, academic IT applications (e.g., AP Recruit, Advance), academic policy/compliance, academic data and home loans, and training for the human resources workforce.

The Human Resources Specialty Center is comprised of specialists in benefits, compensation, classification, disability management, employment, Executive Compensation, Health Care Facilitator Program, labor and employee relations, information technology, interim staffing, the Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), and learning & development.

The groups work in tandem to ensure departmental and employee human resource needs are met and that the university complies with policy and regulatory requirements/obligations.
